You must be sick of hearing from me about NASIG and the upcoming conference by now. In a few hours, I’m leaving to attend that event.
The hotel and location are great, the lineup of speakers and events are great, but the best part is the people who gather together as a community to learn more from each other about issues in scholarly communication, e-resource management, and related topics. When all is said and done, that is what counts.
Tomorrow I’ll chair my final NASIG Executive Board meeting. Everyone on the Board has been a pleasure to work with this past year. We don’t always see eye-to-eye but we all have NASIG’s best interests at heart. We’ve all worked hard to lead the organization and move it forward this past year. The same goes for committee chairs and members, who’ve put in so much effort. We are all volunteers who feel strongly about the importance of this non-profit organization and its vital place in the broader profession of librarianship.
You can follow along with the conference by searching for the hashtag #NASIG18 on social media including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
(By the way, the title of this post references a favorite song about Atlanta sung by Alison Krauss, the best vocalist on the planet in my opinion.)
As for me, I’ll be frequently referring to this year’s schedule of events as shown in the following mobile app icon. I’ll need to be sure I’m where I need to be at the right time over the next several days 🙂 Also, bon voyage to all who are traveling to Atlanta for this event. See you soon!
