Charleston, SC – November 2016

I enjoyed my second trip to the Holy City — Charleston, S.C. — one of the more interesting and beautiful cities to visit in the whole United States. At the same time, its wealth was built on the backs (quite literally) of slaves, and it is hard to reconcile a visit there with this very sordid past as the biggest slave port of them all. It is home to The Charleston Library Conference: Issues in Book and Serials Acquisitions, and that was the reason for my visit.
